Jennifer Hamill - Solicitor

Jennifer was born and raised in Lanarkshire and attended Fernhill School in Glasgow. Upon finishing her secondary education, she took a gap year and commenced travelling though Australia before heading to Kentucky to work on an Appaloosa Ranch. On returning from her travels she enrolled at The University of Dundee to do her Scots Law LLB (honors). She graduated in 2006 with a 2:1 classification and shortly thereafter enrolled and completed her Diploma in Legal Practice again at The University of Dundee in May 2007. Jennifer was a keen mooter and debater at university and in term time competed in various Inter Varsity competitions reaching the final of the UK wide UKELA student moot in 2006. Jennifer spent her university summers variously inter-railing through Eastern Europe, teaching water sports in France and one particularly wet summer teaching horse riding in deepest darkest Wales.

On finishing university Jennifer trained with Morton Fraser LLP in Edinburgh spending time in their Corporate, Commercial Property and Family law teams. She had the opportunity of being exposed to large corporate deals and Court of Session Actions. In September 2009 Jennifer escaped city life and relocated to Caithness to commence a solicitor post with Drever and Heddle. Like the majority of the Drever and Heddle Thurso team she is an enthusiastic horse woman and finds that the majority of her time is taken up by her ponies. Jennifer is also a keen walker and climber and is looking forward to getting out and exploring more of the regions beautiful scenery (and allegedly learning to Surf if it would warm up slightly).

Jennifer enjoys working in both corporate and family law. She is looking forward to being able to help Drever and Heddle's new and existing business clients with their corporate work, and offering Company Secretarial services to the firm's clients. She will also be and active part of the Drever and Heddle family law team and assisting with general litigation.
