Serena Sutherland - Trainee Solicitor
Serena was born in Edinburgh but grew up in Orkney. After a short stint at university in London and a year spent travelling in Australia she returned to Orkney and became a secretary with Drever & Heddle in 2003.
Deciding that that being a secretary just wasn’t for her, Serena went on to complete her Law Society Exams in 2006 after 3 years of combining working and studying. September 2006 saw her head off to Edinburgh to start her diploma in Legal Practice, which she completed in May 2007. Serena is now a Trainee Solicitor with the firm and hopes to be fully qualified in May 2009.
Serena is based in the Kirkwall office although travels to Thurso frequently. She will be permanently based in the Thurso office until the end of January 2008.
Serena’s days are mostly filled with conveyancing and private client work, under the supervision of Archie Millar.
To relax, Serena enjoys watching films, reading, eating out and listening to music. She also enjoys the “occasional” shopping trip, especially to Edinburgh and London. She can often be found planning her next holiday. Her favourite travel destination is the USA and her dream trip would be the trans-siberian railway from Moscow – Beijing.
