Andy McGinn - Practice Manager
Andy was born and brought up in Orkney, and some might say Drever & Heddle!
Andy was educated in Orkney as well as attending boarding school in Blenerne, near Hawick.
Andy’s late father Frank McGinn was a Senior Partner of Drever & Heddle. Andy started his career as the delivery and tea boy, often seen running round Kirkwall in his short trousers. This makes him the longest serving employee at Drever & Heddle (possibly ever!), being some 41 years – who’s counting?
There was no getting away from the office as in his younger years as Andy lived in the building, his then living room is now used as an office.
Andy has had many a role in Drever & Heddle since his delivery boy days. Ranging from Legal Clerk, Executry Clerk, Property Manager and is now Drever & Heddle’s Practice Manager. He is currently the only person in Orkney to be qualified under the M.N.A.E.A, (Member of the National Association of Estate Agents)
It is fair to say that Andy is always on the go, when not in the office he runs a B&B in Kirkwall with his wife Kathleen.
He is extremely well known throughout Orkney, not only due to his status within Drever & Heddle.
Above all, Andy still finds time to carry out his role as President of the Orkney Rugby Football Club, however no longer participates in the sport.
He can also be seen on the golf course, where you may see his head appear above the bunkers!
